
Peter Hodson is a Hong Kong and English solicitor and also an Accredited Mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in London and with the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, specialising in dispute management and dispute resolution in fiduciary related disputes involving financial institutions, trustees, beneficiaries and a variety of commercial enterprises. Peter worked in Hong Kong and Singapore for twenty years, mainly in the trust industry before moving to Guernsey in 1998 where he is now based with Hodson & Company.
Peter is licensed as a Personal Fiduciary under the Regulation of Fiduciaries and Administration of Businesses (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2000 and he operates as an independent third party neutral in fiduciary structures, as a professional problem solver and problem manager, as well as an independent adviser and trainer to the offshore finance industry.
His work as a professional problem solver often involves undertaking appointments as an independent director, protector and trustee of complex family structures as well as acting as a mediator in a variety of fiduciary, employment and commercial disputes. As well as appointments as assistant mediator for CEDR mediations, Peter also undertakes direct referrals for mediations, evaluations and facilitation for a broad variety of fiduciary and commercial disputes.
Peter’s work covers a wide range of problems involving breaches of fiduciary duty by business promoters, directors, trustees and other fiduciaries, breaches of trust claims and a variety of commercial and employment claims which arise within these structures.
Peter is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners ("STEP") and teaches a number of the offshore face to face courses for the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management as well as running Continuing Professional Development courses on their behalf.
In his spare time, Peter enjoys sailing and golf.
