The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) launched the international programme in 1999 leading to the STEP Foundation Certificate and Diploma in International Trust Management.

The Foundation Certificate in International Trust Management and Diploma are also awarded in association with the University of Manchester Business School.

Programme Features

The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners Foundation Certificate and Diploma in International Trust Management is a globally recognised programme and is currently offered in 21 jurisdictions. It defines standards, levels of expertise and codes of professionalism in the international trust arena and has received acclaim as a highly relevant, well presented course with first class study materials and facilities.

Foundation Certificate

Containing modules in offshore financial services, the evolution of equity, types and uses of offshore trusts, features of good trust administration, uses and types of offshore companies and management of offshore companies.

Diploma - consists of the following advanced papers;

• Trust Creation: Law & Practice
• Company Law & Practice
• Trusts Administration & Accounts
• Trustee Investment and Financial Appraisal

• A globally recognised award.
• Full STEP membership for Diploma holders and use of the designation TEP upon completion of the Diploma.
• An integrated tuition system, including distance learning, a website facility and face-to-face tuition.
• Attendance at any component of the course or examination in any of the jurisdictions.

The qualification is the product of a collaboration between STEP, the International Trust Companies Association (ITCA) and Central Law Training (CLT).

• The Foundation Certificate and Diploma are now awarded in association with the University of Manchester Business School (MBS). The courses are subject to the rigorous quality assurance procedures of MBS, a school of the University of Manchester.
